Setting Goals
Set goals become accountable.
‘A goal is a dream with a plan’
Set your goal, make a plan, get closer to that dream.
Sick of the same old, same old, day in and day out? You want to make changes, but the excuses come too easily, ‘I’ll start Monday’, yet every week your facing the same dilemma.
You start over time and time again, ‘I’m going to be good this week.’ Yeah, we’ve all heard that before!
Are you still facing the same obstacles, falling at the same hurdle?
How can YOU overcome this, how can YOU stay on track?
YOU need to set goals, write them down, check in daily, accountability is key!
CHANGE IS HARD, if it were easy everyone would do it!
To reach our goals, change is REQUIRED.
All change requires a little discomfort initially as we adjust to the new behaviours, making choices better than the day before.
‘Without a little discomfort there is no room for growth’
Would you rather stay the same or grow?
Let’s TAKE RESPONSIBILITY and become ACCOUNTABLE for what you wish to achieve.
Goal Setting – How do I get started?
Step 1: Choose your goal, be specific and choose what is realistic for YOU. Is your goal achievable and measurable? (SMART)
E.g. Over the next 10 days I want to walk 10,000 steps every day!
Step 2: Write your goal down. (make it visible)
Step 3: Understand your why! Why do you want to achieve this goal? ask yourself Why 3 times. (get to the root)
E.g. I want to improve my fitness levels, why? I want to have more energy and zest for life why? I want to feel more confident, (root – low self esteem)
Understanding YOUR why is key!
Come back to this when you are struggling to keep going! This will help when you may be about to fall of track. #stay motivated!
You do not want to be back where you started. #onwards and upwards.
Step 4: Check in with your goal daily. Create a check list. Ticking of your accomplishment daily will give you a great sense of satisfaction each day, think of how you will feel after 10 days of achieving your goal. This will Keep your motivation strong.
Step 5: Daily reminders: Make your goal visible, daily reminders of your goal! (Get the post-its out, remember your why)
Step 6 : Reward yourself on mini milestones. This will help you to stay on track, To remain disciplined when motivation starts to drop.
Our mindset is key in achieving our goals! Our behaviour, our actions, how we choose to respond. How we talk to ourselves. Our ability to accept failure and move past it without beating ourselves up and abandoning the goal altogether.
‘It’s the small changes that lead to big results.’
